Since you’re asking.

I’m Rachel, of course.
I have always been fascinated with the arts and culture, and was always the incredibly geeky one, spending time searching the Internet for nothing in particular. When It was time to pick something to major in for university, I (accidentally) stumbled across the Popular Culture program that was being offered at a few universities, and decided that was what I wanted to study. And I did! Four years later, I obtained an Honours degree in Popular Culture, but something was missing. I knew that I wouldn’t get a job right out of university, especially with only that degree behind me, so I opted for a post-graduate program in Public Relations.
I was lucky to receive a job right after graduating from the PR program in non-profit. And that’s where I stayed for just over a year. Realizing that I needed to make a change, and having that change conveniently land in my lap, I switched over to agency work in the big city. This was where I wanted and needed to be. I love the fast-paced work environment, the sharing of ideas and the constant interaction with people on a daily basis not only in person, but through social media. My career is just starting, but I know this is what I love doing.
If that little backgrounder wasn’t enough, here are some fun facts about me:
- I love Canadian films. Canadian Film Studies were some of my favourite classes while attending university
- Most people hate it, but I really like flossing my teeth
- Laughing is one of the greatest feelings; I try to do it daily
- I’m a shoe-gazer
- Often times, I like to spontaneously break out into dance
- I try to be awesome as often as I can
